Welcome Shay Felder, the Consortium’s Program Specialist

Hi everyone!

My name is Shay Felder, and I am delighted to be the new Program Specialist for the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium!

I’m originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and relocated to Winston Salem, North Carolina, after attending Appalachian State University for my undergrad in Health Care Management. In 2020-2021, I completed my MBA with a concentration in Project Management from Doane University.

For the past 3 years, I have worked at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist serving the Pathology and Neurology Academic Offices as an Administrative Manager and Senior Administrative Assistant. During this time, I became involved with the Residency and Fellowship Programs in the departments. These experiences gave me an insight into how accredited residency and fellowship programs perform and why they are vital to our health care system!

When I’m not at work, you can find me walking my dog, working out at the gym, or hiking Salem Lake or the Blue Ridge Parkway.

As excited as I am about my new role, I am even more excited to get to know and work with each of you, wherever you may be in the accreditation process. Please don’t hesitate to reach out – I’m here to help!

With gratitude,

Shay
